TIPS TO WRITING A GOOD BICKING AWARD NOMINATION

The Lew Bicking Award is for people who have made significant contributions to the exploration of a cave or series of caves.  The nominee(s) must be an NSS member for at least the past two years. Strong preference will be given to nominees who have not received the NSS Honorary Member or Outstanding Service awards (if you're not sure, check next to the person's name in your NSS Members Manual).

A good nomination letter is two to three pages long, maximum, and highlights the nominee's accomplishments in terms of cave discoveries, explorations, surveys and other documentations.  Support letters (two or more) are also important and should be one to two page in length and includes some personal experiences with the nominee(s) that illustrates why he/she/they deserve to be recognized.
